Advices for students beginning this course

What advice would you give to a student beginning this course about (a) how to design a function and (b) how to prepare for this course?

For students who beginning this course, I have three advices about how to design a function and how to prepare for this course.

1. Come to class. Joining every lectures is the best way to figure out how to design a function because the professor will teach you step by step.  He will also introduce some examples to support the definition and can be easier to understand.

2. Review the quiz every week. Every week, there will be a quiz regularly. Before the quiz, the professor will post a lab on the course website. This lab is very helpful for reviewing your quiz since it covers every knowledge you should memorize for this week. And also, you can use the notes from the website to review. If you can understand this clearly, it will be fine for your quizzes.

3. Prepare this course by language manual. When I am finishing my assignment, I find this website which is very useful. This website contains every function you will learn in this course, and you can easily get correct information by the searching list. You can also use it for preparing this course because you can get the basic information about whay you will learn.

Term test 1 is done!

This week is the week of term test, and I just completed my first term test in this course. I prepared a lot for this test by reviewing all the notes and labs as well as practising all the past tests which are posted on the course website. These contents cover the knowledge of list, contract, flip-vertical and the way how you can gey them. I think the test is not very hard but tricky, and I have already found that I got one question wrong. Hope that I could got all other question correct:(

Questions about CSC104

Hi, I am Kelly Yan:) Here are some questions about the course CSC104 in the university of Toronto! -Why did you choose CSC104? What do you hope to get out of this course? I chose CSC104 for two reasons. The first one is that although I am interested in computer science, I am worried about my ability to study this well since I had no  background in a programming field.
